THE PROPOSITION :- Part 1

What is a Proposition? According to Wiktionary, Proposition means the act of offering an idea for consideration. It could also mean the term of a transaction offered.

In my own point of view, Proposition is a suggestion or an offer given to someone to consider and then choose if the proposed idea or plan is accepted or not.

Now, what is God's Proposition is the question I want us to look into. What did God propose to man to consider, to agree on or disagree?

The answer is, the idea of His son "Jesus Christ": The idea and plan that Jesus Christ would be sent on earth to die for the remission of the sins of mankind; this is the proposition God has presented to man in time memorial over 2000 years ago before Christ.

This idea was prophesied by the prophet Isaiah, Jeremiah and Micah.

Read: Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 53: 1-12, Isaiah 9:6, Jeremiah 23:5-6, Micah 5:2. This idea was circulated by these prophets as everyone anticipate for the idea to become actualized.

Then, one day, during the era when a decree was passed in Israel by Caesar Augustus, he decreed that everyone should go and be registered according to the book of Luke 2:1, as Jesus Christ, who was for a long time an idea of God to mankind became manifested.

However, the long awaited jews who have been in anticipation for this God's idea or plan to become a reality, didn't know when the plan came to pass, only but a few persons that God gave the privilege to know and see the baby Jesus came to be,

[ Luke 2:7-21, Luke 2:22-38].

Notwithstanding, the early prophets prophesied to the people in part, not with the full message of the proposition which was: "that a son would be born to the world and would save his people from their sin"... This is the summary of the old prophets prophecies paraphrased. [Read, Isaiah 9:6-7, Isaiah 11:1-5, Jeremiah 23:6].

God did not reveal to the prophets all of His propositions, He kept it short and simple.

But after Jesus came to be in reality, the full proposition was released which was: Jesus coming to earth to deliver His people from sin, won't come free. There was a clause to Jesus coming to be the saviour of the world. The clause was that, the people He was and is coming to save would and will continue to accept or agree to work with Him as their Lord and Personal savior.

However, when this full proposition was fully released by Jesus the highest prophet of our time. So many people didn't agree or accept to follow Him and His ways because of their unbelief as they rejected Him, first by the jews and secondly to some Gentiles who are still finding it difficult to give Him a chance to save them.

Now, you can see that the people who were anticipating the coming of the Savior of the world as prophesied by the old prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah etc actually agreed or accept the first proposition offered by God which wasn't complete. But as the proposition became fully known as explained by Jesus Christ several times in the temple and every other place He preached His Gospel. The Pharisees, Saducees and the scribes of that time, kept on challenging and questioning His claims of being the Son of God. The regularly question His Teachings, asking Him where He got them from because His Teachings has never been heard before, it was new.

So because, they didn't understand or fathom how God in heaven will send down to earth His son to save the world, they decided to shut the door of their hearts against Him and also try to deprive others the opportunity of redemption.

GOD'S PROPOSITION Part 2 will be continued next month ... God bless you.
