What is a Lily? According to the h, LILY can be define as any of several flowers in the genus Lilium of the family Liliaceae, which includes a great many ornamental species.
It can also be any of several species of herbaceous flower which may or may not resemble the genus Lilium in some way, and which are not closely related to it or it can also be seen as the flower used as a heraldic charge; also commonly used to describe the fleur-de-lis which is associated with the French Monarchy.
What is Lily of the valley? Lily of the valley is a flowering plant, scientifically called Convallaria Majalis. This fragant flower is used in lots of religious celebration and for ornamental gardens all over the world. The scientific name translates to "that which belongs to MAY" which is just one reason why the flower is a recognized flower for the month of MAY according to Rebekah .P.
Lily of the valley is a flower that can be given as a gift for just about any occasion. While it is the perfect flower for religious ceremonies, it is also a popular choice for a wedding, birthday, mothers day, and other kinds of celebration, too. It is appropriate for any occasion.
However, Lily of the valley is often referred to as Maybells, Mary Tears, Conval Lily, Jacob's ladder and even May Lily.
This beautiful amazing flower is most often seen as a symbol of rebirth and humility. It can also be used to symbolize Chastity, Purity, Sweetness and Motherhood.
The Lily flowers are thought to bring luck in love but can also symbolize a return of happiness. It is a favorite flowers for royals.
CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE OF LILY OF THE VALLEY FLOWERS
In German mythology, the flower was associated with the purity of the goddess Ostara, a virgin for her humility.
During the Victorian era, the flower signifies a return of happiness. Some religious mythology says that the flower symbolizes Eve's tears as she was banished from the Garden of Eden. Her tears were later transformed into the Lily of the valley.
Some Christian tradition believes that the flower is a symbol of humility and of the second coming of Christ. While some other people believe that the Lily of the valley can protect gardens from evil spirits.
At one point in time, it was used as a charm to guard against the witches spell. No matter what the believe systems and culture states at that time, the point is that the lily flower is a rare gem.
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT THE LILY OF THE VALLEY:
According to (Song of Solomon 2:1-3), verse 1 of this scripture says, as the woman declares, "I am the Rose of Sharon, the Lily of the valleys" then the man affirms in verse 2 "Like a Lily among thorns is my darling among the young women ." Then in verse 3, the woman responds "Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my beloved among the young men".
Luke 12:27
[27]Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Hosea 14:4-7
[4]“I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely, For My anger has turned away from him.
[5]I will be like the dew to Israel; He shall grow like the lily, And lengthen his roots like Lebanon.
[6]His branches shall spread; His beauty shall be like an olive tree, And his fragrance like Lebanon.
[7]Those who dwell under his shadow shall return; They shall be revived like grain, And grow like a vine. Their scent shall be like the wine of Lebanon.
